This Sunday--May 11, 2008

This Sunday is an exciting Sunday in the life of the church.  Easter is a season that extends from Easter Day (this year that was March 23) until Pentecost Day.  The span of time between is 50 days, such that the Easter season is often referred to as "The Great 50 Days."

This Sunday, May 11, is the Day of Pentecost.  It is the day when the Church celebrates the gift of the Holy Spirit among us.  In Acts 2 we are told how the Holy Spirit came up those gathered and they were filled with that Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is the very presence and power of God.

Sunday is also the day our culture celebrates Mother's Day.  To all those mothers out there--we honor you!!
